Malcolm X

One Day and forty eight years ago, Malcolm Little AKA Malcolm  X was shot giving a speech at the Audubon Ballroom on 165th street and Broadway  in New York City.  He was shot 15 times at close range Once with a sawed off shotgun, seven times from a handgun, and seven times from another handgun. His assassins were members of the Nation of Islam, a group that Malcolm X was once a prominent member of.  Today, forty eight years ago, the Nation Of Islam’s “Muslim mosque #7” in Harlem was fire bombed by people outraged by the nations actions, the very Mosque which Malcolm was once in charge of.
Malcolm X is one of my favorite historical figures.  He was a man who was able to change his mind and grow through the course of his life.  Starting from the bottom, he learned to keep his mind open even in the face of powers that told him his thoughts and opinions were wrong.  Also, he was one Badass public speaker.
